Genuine DIN 71802 angle joint (also known as an angled ball joint) — the trade-standard gas strut fitting that combines a ball joint socket and a threaded mounting stud in one part. The M8 ball joint socket (10mm ball, female thread) connects to your gas strut's threaded rod end, while the integrated M8 mounting stud (male thread) bolts straight into your bracket or panel — no separate stud or extra nut needed on that side. A safety-catch clip retains the ball and allows a swivel angle of roughly 15–18°. Zinc-plated steel with an SW13 hex flat for easy tightening.
The 10mm ball joint socket (M8 female thread) screws onto any gas strut with a matching M8 male-threaded rod end. The M8 mounting stud bolts through a clearance hole in your bracket or panel — use a nut and washer (nyloc recommended). We stock this angle joint in several reach lengths with the same thread sizes, so please double-check the 19mm reach measurement against your original part or bracket before ordering, to avoid receiving the wrong length and needing a return.
What is an angle joint? An angle joint (DIN 71802) is a standard gas strut and linkage fitting that combines a ball joint socket and a threaded ball stud in one part, set at a fixed angle. It's also called an angled ball joint, and it's the correct term if you're comparing parts between suppliers.
How do I know I've got the right reach length? Measure your existing part from the centre of the ball to the end of the threaded socket. We stock several reach lengths in this thread/ball combination — the reach measurement is the easiest way to confirm you're ordering the right one.
Can I use these outdoors? Zinc plated for sheltered outdoor use. For marine or fully exposed environments, get in touch about stainless options.
Do I need a nut for the mounting stud? Yes — a M8 nut and washer (nyloc recommended) are needed for the stud end; these are not included.
