The Formula (for reference)

F = (W × 9.81 × L) / d

F = force per strut (N) · W = panel weight (kg) · L = hinge-to-centre-of-gravity distance · d = hinge-to-strut-mount distance. Multiply by a safety margin of 1.2–1.5×, then divide by the number of struts fitted.
